HOLIDAY GIFT BASKETS

I created this one-of-a-kind basket using a handmade basket I found at the Goodwill store. I took different strips of paper in reds & greens (most of it is either Basic Grey or Cosmo Cricket) and decoupaged all the sections of the basket.

For the very first time I used the Mod Podge Sparkle Decoupage Glue and I loved it! It added just a touch of glitter but was not clumpy. I also used Sanford Grippit Paper Cement and I was really impressed with it. It was the perfect glue for adhering paper to wood that was slightly rough. I had this bottle in my stash and have probably had it for many years - it had not dried up and it did what it said - the paper did not wrinkle. It is also safe for photos and scrapbooking applications. I just hope they still make it because I will buy more of this glue as it was perfect for this type of application! Just remember when decoupaging or applying paper you want to use an adhesive that will dry clear and dry non-tacky. This way you wont have to worry about excess glue on your project. That is why I love Mod Podge - it holds very well but it is not sticky and works not only as the glue but the sealer to protect your finished project.

I created this basket for the Signature Chefs Auction in Knoxville to benefit March of Dimes.
